It’s a frequently ordered option in Indonesian restaurants in Sydney, but who makes the best laksa in Sydney?
We have no need for the best restaurant reviews when we have a lot of local expertise right here. It doesn’t matter if it’s a fancy restaurant or a casual eatery, just as long as their laksa is tasty!
So exactly where is the best laksa in Sydney?

hands down the winner is easily Le Thai in the foodcourt under Myer on Pitt St mall.
I’ve tried a lot and this gets a 4.8/5 in my opinion – not much room for improvement
Longrain.
Jimmy’s Laksa in TGV
Malay-Chinese Takeaway on Hunter Street. Answering this question is a passion of mine and that’s the closest I’ve come so far…
Happy chef china town – best meal under $10 anywhere!
Thai noodle hut GLADESVILLE
The best three… and I assure you I have tasted them all!
1. Chinese-Malay in Hunter Street (near corner of Hunter & Bligh Sts)
2. Lee’s Malaysian Kitchen at corner of George and Hunter sts
3. Laksa Place in QVB
Noodle Junction in Maroubra Junction, hands down!! I’ve been on a journey to find one better, but no one has beat Noodle Junction yet!
Another vote for Malay-Chinese on Hunter Street
Malay chinese on hunter st
Great chook curry as well. skip the laksa line AND get extra sauce on the rice
Jimmy’s in tgv but been meaning to try that hunter st one for ages
Malay Chinese on Hunter St.
I strongly disagree about Jimmys in TGV. I went there recently and it was tasteless, watery and not the tiniest bit spicy (and I asked for extra spice!). It made me sad, and laksa should never make you sad.
Malay Chinese on Hunter St..hands down.
